Lexi had lots of visitors yesterday! All of her grandparents and great grandparents were here to see her.
Lexi and her grandparents!

The Great-Grands

Her Aunt and Uncles also came by.

She is the only girl on Shane’s side of the family.

But most importantly she met her big brother. He thinks she is great, especially since she gave him a new toy, Jessie from Toy Story 2 and 3.

So after finding out on February 22, 2011 that our little girl was breach and trying to turn her on February 23, 2011. We scheduled a c-section for March 1, 2011. It was originally scheduled for 10 am so I had to be here at 8 am. We got up and finished getting a few last minuets things together. Landen was so excited that he wanted to take a picture of him and Lexi’s ultrasound photos.

We left Landen with his grandparents and headed to the hospital. They quickly got me in and hooked me up to and IV and got everything ready for the surgery, of coarse it ended up to be a “hurry up and wait” thing, because there had been an emergency c-section that put them about 30 minuets behind. At around 10 am they finally came back into the room to start getting everything ready to move. Shane had to put on scrubs and I was taken to the OR to get a spinal tap and get everything ready. Once in there I received the spinal tap, which I was very scared was going to be painful but it ended up only being uncomfortable.(but they did give me numbing medicine before putting the needle into my spine!) Once I was numb from the bottom of my ribs down to the tips of my toes Shane was able to come back in. Now we just had to wait for the doctor to do his thing.

Finally they told Shane that she it was time and she would be here any moment. Within a minuet I heard her crying and they were saying, “It’s A Girl!”

Shane took a few pictures of her coming out and finally the doctor brought her around to where I could see her.

Shane followed her to the table where she was cleaned and weighted.

I was able to see them both while the doctor was finishing up with me. Finally Shane brought her back to me where I got to see her and talk to her. Shane and I got our first pictures together with her thanks to the nurses that were in the room.

After about 15 minuets they took her to the recovery room where they measured her and gave her the Apgar score. I was still getting put back together and then I was taken back to recovery where I was able to hold her for the first time. She is so beautiful and Shane and I are so happy. She is perfect and even though this is not the way we expected her to come into the world she is safe and healthy and that’s all that matters.

Its funny how much my life has changed in the last few years. Its New York Fashion Week and three years ago I would have been researching all the top trends in fashion. Three years ago I would have been deciding on what trends would be making their way into my constantly expanding wardrobe. Three years ago I would have been dreaming of the job that would take me to New York Fashion Week and planning out all the steps I needed to get there. And now I am sitting here in my sweats, watching TV, and checking out the new trends in clothing…… but not the ones walking the catwalk at New York Fashion week, but the ones in Gymboree or at Old Navy, the ones that I will be buying soon to put my kids in. I am not adding to my wardrobe anymore I am only thinking about them and what they should wear. It amazes me how much one little person can change your life in ways you never could imagine, how they make you a better person and how one little person can make all your dreams for yourself not matter anymore, the only dreams you have are the ones for them. I got to experience that three years ago, and I am about to experience it again! I cant wait to see how much this new little girl will change our family in ways we never could imagine.

This weeks Build & Grow was a music box. Landen loved helping put it together but was really excited about putting on the heart top. It a very cute project, I just wish the music that it plays was a little different! It repeats the same 5 notes over and over and over again! But Landen really likes it and has enjoyed hiding things inside of it.

Getting Ready!

So I am in the process of making sure that I have everything ready for our baby girl’s entrance to this world. And today I was able to check one more thing off my list, I got her new car seat! Thanks to Babies-R-Us and their big trade in event I got 25% off a new car seat when I traded in Landen’s old infant car seat.

Since Landen was about to out grow his car seat I bought him a new new to us seat. A lady from our play group had a gently used Britax that she had maybe used 30 times. Landen is loving his new big boy seat. And its a seat that will last him until he no longer needs a car seat!

We also got a sit and stand stroller from a friend, this is going to come in handy when I have both kids out by myself. AND IT WAS FREE! cant beat that!

Things are finally starting to come together and I am feeling more prepared for this baby everyday. Which is probably a good thing since I am considered full term tomorrow and she could come at anytime in the next 4 weeks. I only have a few more items on my checklist and then I will be done. So I guess the countdown is officially on!

This was our first Build & Grow since Shane left and it was a little bit of an adjustment for both Landen and me. It was good that it was a simple project since I have had problems in the past with helping him put the kit together. It was also really nice to have Nana and Papa there to help out.

He got to make a ball toss and we have enjoyed trying to get the balls in the holes. Its not as easy as it looks TRUST ME!!!
